Amanda comes from a small town in Southern Virginia which, still to this day, does not have a single stoplight. She grew up on a working farm where she learned about vegetable gardening and first realized her love for nature and the outdoors. Amanda attended Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and received her Bachelor of Science in Horticulture with an emphasis in Landscape Contracting.

In her free time, she enjoys training for her next triathlon or running event and playing co-rec softball and volleyball. Amanda also loves traveling to visit family and friends. Her favorite place to travel is any body of water which allows her to participate in water sports!

Mike is a true Northern Virginian who was born in Alexandria and grew up in Clifton. In those days, Clifton was considered “the country,” and that is where he fell in love with the outdoors.
Mike attended Fairview Elementary, Robinson High School, and Radford University. After graduating from Radford with a business degree, he earned an advanced degree in computer programming. He spent the next 18 years in the telecommunications industry working as a multi-national account manager for McDonnell Douglas, MCI, and AT&T.
Eventually, Mike decided he was spending too much time on the road, in airports, and in hotels. He wanted more time with his growing family. A career change was in order, and
Mike resides in Fairfax Station, VA. Despite his busy life, Mike still snags a few days off here & there so he can go bow hunting and fishing.
Bryan is a Northern VA native that graduated from a high school in Springfield and then went on to serve in U.S. Marine Corps.
He spent several years as a project manager for a property restoration company, a position that taught him how to become an advocate for homeowners while managing all sorts of construction projects.
When Bryan first came to work at Kingstowne, he spent time treating and improving our customers' lawns which gave him a great, hands-on background that serves him well as he now assists customers in selecting the right services to improve all aspects of maintaining their property.
In his spare time, Bryan enjoys spending time with his wife and two young boys and volunteering at his church.
He especially appreciates the opportunity for growth at Kingstowne and working alongside a group of team members that feel like his family.
Steve is a native New Yorker, who has been in Northern Virginia for the past 30 years.
Steve owned and ran CrossFit Lorton for 11 years, this gave him a great understanding of working with people.
When Steve first came to work at Kingstowne, he spent time with the crews treating and improving our client’s lawns which gave him a great background that serves him well as he works with customers in selecting the right services to improve all aspects of maintaining their property.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time boating with his wife and two boys.
Heyner was born in Colombia and moved with his family to the U.S. at the age of 6. His father has a construction background so Heyner has been exposed to our industry over the 20 years he's spent living in the Delmarva area.
He graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Landscape Architecture, even receiving a Maryland Sustainable Growth Challenge Award for a project during his junior year.
Heyner has thoroughly enjoyed working alongside our landscape installation crews until he took the position to help clients designing their ideal property. His greatest professional reward is "leaving a smile on people’s faces".
He loves traveling, hiking, and spending time outdoors. If you ever ask him how he feels about soccer, he'll certainly be excited. He may even tell you about how his team won the Maryland state cup or his time playing with the D.C. United academy team.
Celebrating 20 years with Kingstowne!
Sarah grew up as an Indiana girl and graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design. Throughout school, she worked for a couple of different residential designers and also went on to explore enhancing commercial spaces as well.
In 2009, she and her husband relocated to Northern VA to begin raising their young kids. After working on The Hill for a number of years, Sarah decided to return to her love, interior design.
She enthusiastically joined the Kingstowne team to use her natural gifts and training to transform the homes of our clients.
In her spare time, she enjoys anything to do with historic architecture, and spending time with her family, especially on their boat or at the beach. She's also an avid running and Pure Barre workout enthusiast and loves to travel to new places.

With more than 18 years of experience in account management, client care, and customer satisfaction, Serena Corby brings a fervor for providing excellent customer service to her role at Kingstowne Lawn & Landscape. She knows that Kingstowne is committed to providing all customers with the “Royal Treatment,” and says that she personally believes every customer interaction is an opportunity for a “hero moment.”
“It means being there when the customer needs you and making that personal interaction with the customer as memorable and positive as possible,” Serena adds.
Serena is a graduate of Jacksonville University and has taken a career path that’s led her through both the small business and corporate worlds. She is excited to bring the customer care skills that she has honed to the homeowners that Kingstowne serves on a daily basis. Serena herself is a local member of the community. Though she grew up in a small upstate New York town, Serena has lived in the DMV area since 1996, most recently residing right here in Alexandria. She is a proud mom to two amazing sons: Jack and Mason.
Born into a military family, Terry had the opportunity to live in different locations before her father's last assignment working at the Pentagon. She considers Northern Virginia her home after graduating from a local high school and community college which provided an education that prepared her for a career in accounting.
For 30 years, she and her husband operated a local printing company and lived in the same neighborhood as Kingstowne's owners where they became friends. Shortly after she and her husband closed the printing business in 2008, she joined our team in 2012.
In her free time, Terry and her husband love spending time on the water on various boats they've owned over the years. She also enjoys cooking and entertaining friends and family.
In addition to crunching the numbers, Terry loves many things about working at Kingstowne. The freedom, autonomy, recognition and friendly team have created a workplace that feels like home.
Mayra grew up in Bolivia until she came to the U.S. to study. She began working at Kingstowne in 2001 as an Administrative Assistant and worked her way up to Chief Operations Officer.
She is beloved by her staff and known for her honesty, empathy, authenticity, and dedication to them and our workplace. Her fluency in Spanish helps our multi-cultural team feel more connected to one another and the leadership team.
Mayra loves animals, especially lions. Her dream is to one day go to Africa and volunteer with rescued lions. She enjoys spending time with her family, including two daughters and a Welsh Terrier, Henry. She's a diehard Caps fan and loves spending time in the local Northern Virginia community.
Krisjan is a Northern Virginia native, graduating from Mount Vernon High School in Alexandria, VA in 1993 and going on to attend Randolph Macon College in Ashland, VA. He founded Kingstowne in 1997 after working grounds maintenance at the Mount Vernon Country Club for several years.
Some 20+ years later, Krisjan is still passionate about the lawn and landscape industry and very active with the National Association of Landscape Professionals where he serves on the Workforce Council. He also is part of the Board of Directors for the Landscape Contractors Association.
Krisjan has developed meaningful professional and personal relationships with countless industry peers across the country and is constantly on the lookout for innovative ideas that help to enhance Kingstowne's ability to improve its workplace and its ability to provide world-class customer service.
Krisjan and his wife, Mayra, and their two daughters reside in Lorton, VA and are diehard Caps fans and active in their local community.
