Amanda comes from a small town in Southern Virginia which, still to this day, does not have a single stoplight. She grew up on a working farm where she learned about vegetable gardening and first realized her love for nature and the outdoors. Amanda attended Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and received her Bachelor of Science in Horticulture with an emphasis in Landscape Contracting.
During her college summers she worked from Florida to Maine expanding her plant palette and green industry knowledge. While at Virginia Tech, Amanda was very active with the Club Water ski/Wake board Team and Delta Gamma Sorority.
After college, Amanda pursued a career as a landscape designer and has more than 10 years of experience with projects ranging from installing simple front foundation plantings to creating large scale multilevel hardscape projects. She is a Landscape Industry Certified Technician through the Landscape Contractors Association of MD, DC, VA, a Techo PRO and she is LITE Certified through Unique Lighting.
In her free time, she enjoys training for her next triathlon or running event and playing co-rec softball and volleyball. Amanda also loves traveling to visit family and friends. Her favorite place to travel is any body of water which allows her to participate in water sports!

Mike is atrueNorthern Virginian who was born in Alexandria and grew up in Clifton. In those days, Clifton was considered “the country,” and that is where he fell in love with the outdoors.
Mike attended Fairview Elementary, Robinson High School, and Radford University. After graduating from Radford with a business degree, he earned an advanced degree in computer programming. He spent the next 18 years in the telecommunications industry working as a multi-national account manager for McDonnell Douglas, MCI, and AT&T.
Eventually, Mike decided he was spending too much time on the road, in airports, and in hotels. He wanted more time with his growing family. A career change was in order, and opportunity came knocking. Mike decided to put his love for the outdoors to work, so he hung up his suit and tie and started a small, successful landscape company. After three years, however, unexpected health issues cut into the time and energy required to run his company. Opportunity knocked again when Mike met the owner ofKingstowne Lawn & Landscape, Krisjan Berzins. Mike soon came on board at Kingstowne, and for the past twelve years he has managed residential and commercial accounts and provided a wealth of experience and professional service to our customers.
Mike resides in Fairfax Station with his wife of 20+ years and his three children. His son attended Old Dominion University on a baseball scholarship, and his oldest daughter plays field hockey at Monmouth University and his youngest attends South County High School. To this day, Mike still snags a few days off here & there so he can go bow hunting and fishing.
Tim grew up in a small town in upstate New York where he spent much of his time outdoors. Not one to sit still for long, he could often be found exploring the hillsides surrounding his town or playing sports. Starting work at a young age, he enjoyed working in the family owned and operated newsstand and mowing lawns in the summer and shoveling miles of sidewalks in the winter.
Shortly after high school Tim relocated to the suburbs of Atlanta Georgia. It is there where he had his first official job in the landscape industry, working for two small landscaping companies.
After a year and a half in Atlanta, Tim took advantage of an opportunity to move a little closer to home, relocating to Alexandria Virginia, where he went to work for Oakwood Worldwide as a gardener. Who would know this would be the start of a 20 year career with the company that would see Tim work his way up through the ranks to manage all landscape, pest control, and snow removal operations for many apartment communities in the eastern two thirds of the U.S. He managed these sites for 8 years until Oakwood sold most of their portfolio. Tim then changed gears and went to work as an account manager and production manager for two local landscape companies. Tim has 7 years of account management experience and over 28 years in the landscaping industry. He is a certified turf, ornamental and general pest applicator in Virginia and Maryland.
When he isn’t working, Tim enjoys traveling with his wife Jo Ann and visiting family. Tim has a goal to visit every state in the U. S. and has only 17 more to go.
Tim looks forward to meeting you and discussing your landscape maintenance needs.
Dan grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania, where he spent his summers fishing with his grandfathers on the Delaware and Chesapeake bays, as well as a few weeks every winter fishing the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. While not fishing the gulf shores he developed yet another passion, watching spring training games for the Philadelphia Phillies in Clearwater, FL.
But it wasn’t only the love of fishing and baseball his family passed on. Both of his grandfathers had a green thumb, with one owning a landscaping business and the other a flower shop. Even his one aunts is a Horticulturist at Hagley Museum, a DuPont estate in Wilmington, DE.
Dan attended St. Marks HS in Wilmington, DE where he worked on the grounds crew throughout his four years of high school and went on to attend Rutgers University for their renowned Turf Management program. While at Rutgers, Dan accepted an internship opportunity in minor league baseball.
Dan spent the 2011 season as a grounds crew intern with the Louisville Bats baseball club, an AAA affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. After earning his two-year degree from Rutgers University, Dan joined the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, an AA affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays as the assistant groundskeeper for the 2012 season. The opportunity eventually led to him becoming the Head Groundskeeper for the club and transitioning later to move into another exciting venture with a colleague.
In 2016, Dan worked with former New England Patriots Head Groundskeeper, Dennis Brolen, CEO of Sports Turf Specialties in Massachusetts, successfully designing and constructing a full field renovation of the playing surface at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, NH. In Dan’s final season with the team, they hosted the Eastern League all-star classic, hosting the top prospects across the league in July of 2017.
In October he decided to hang up the rakes and relocate to Washington, DC with his girlfriend Lydia and their chocolate lab Sadie. In his free time, Dan enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and family, as well as spending time fishing and attending Philadelphia sports games.
Dan and the team at Kingstowne look forward to helping you get major-league results for your home turf!
