Ownership

Kingstowne Lawn & Landscape was established by Phil Williams and Krisjan Berzins in 1997. Both graduated in 1993 from Mount Vernon High School in Alexandria, Virginia. Williams and Berzins were both members of the varsity football team when they began their strong friendship. Phil attended Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. where he studied Sociology. Krisjan attended Randolph Macon College in Ashland, Virginia where he studied International Business. It was in the spring of 1997 when Phil and Krisjan first began to work as a team. Krisjan worked in the grounds maintenance department at Mount Vernon Country Club during high school and college. Phil had always been well disciplined and had a strong business sense. It was a perfect partnership. Together they began doing small projects for family and friends using tools and equipment that they had borrowed from their parents. Today Phil  and Krisjan head a company with more than 45 employees, 23 trucks and a 10,000 square foot office facility. However, they still haven't forgotten
where they came from. They still treat every client as if they were the first.
