Annual Grounds Maintenance Calendar

• January: Leaf removal ends. Lime applications begin. Holiday lights are taken down. Commercial snow removal continues.
  
  
• February: Pre-emergent weed control & fertilizer begins. Commercial snow removal continues. Mulching begins.
  
  
• March: Mowing will begin at some point in March, depending on the weather. 1st Fertilizer treatment continues. Tree & Shrub Care begins. Pruning & weeding plans begins.
  
  
• April: Mowing continues. Broadleaf weed control treatment begins. 2nd Tree & shrub treatment begins (Fertilizer & Insect control). Pruning & weeding continues.
  
  
• May: Mowing continues. 2nd fertilizer treatment applied to turf. Broadleaf weed control applied. Tree & Shrub treatment 2 continues. Pruning & weeding continues.
  
  
• June: Mowing continues. 3rd turf fertilizer (Summerizer) is applied. Grub control is applied. Tree & shrub treatment 3 begins (Insect & Disease Control). Please water when necessary. Pruning & weeding continues.
  
  
• July: Mowing continues. Water when necessary. Soil testing & broadleaf weed control begin on the 16th. Tree & shrub treatment 4 begins. Pruning & weeding continues.
  
  
• August: Mowing continues. Water when necessary. Soil testing & analysis ends on the 16th. Tree & shrub treatment 4 continues. Aeration & seeding and starter fertilizer (4th turf application) begins on the 17th on irrigated properties. Make sure to water seed according to guidelines. Pruning & weeding continues.
  
  
• September: Mowing continues. Water when necessary. Aeration & overseeding continues. Starter fertilizer (4th turf application) continues. Make sure to water seed according to guidelines. Pruning & weeding continues.
  
  
• October: Mowing continues. Winter fertilizer (5th turf application) begins on the on the 16th. 5th tree & shrub treatment begins (fertilizer). Aeration & overseeding ends on the 31st. Make sure to water seed according to guidelines. Pruning & weeding continues.
  
  
• November: Mowing ends sometime in November depending on the weather. Leaf removal begins on the 1st. Winter fertilizers for lawns & trees & shrubs continue. Holiday lighting begins. Pruning & weeding continues. 6th and final tree & shrub treatments begin.
  
  
• December: Leaf removal continues. Holiday lighting continues. Commercial snow removal begins. Pruning & weeding ends in early December. Final tree and treatments continue until the 15th.
